Biotopo del Quetzal Lic. Mario Dary Rivera: It is divided in 3 different zones: Visitors Center, the interpretative natural trails (which are 2), and the Primitive Zone, which is located in a Clowd Forest, where the fauna and flora are still conserved. This zone is the ideal place to do reaserch of the area.
The Biotopo del Quetzal opened its doors in February 1978, specially determided for conservation and preservation of the Guatemalan national bird: "EL QUETZAL", which represents a symbol of freedom.

SALTO DE CHILASCÓ WATERFALL AND LA LAGUNETA CASCADE:
Located in Sierra de las Minas, in Salamá, Department of Baja Verapaz. Both of them are beautiful natural waterfalls situated in the Clowd Forest - Habitat of El Quetzal.

HACIENDA RÍO ESCONDIDO:
A private forest reserve, with a nice restaurant, comfortable cabins for lodging, and natural baths. The hacienda is located in Cobán, at the beginning of the Clowd Forest. It forms part of the Mesoamerican Biological Corridor. It is the perfect and ideal place for birdwatching, trekking, to appreciate the nature, enjoy the peace, walk in the trails, or just rest in the cabins.

Regional Museum of Trapiche de San Jerónimo: Constructed in the XVI Century and was the first sugarmill in Central America. Here is where the "sweet history" of Guatemalan Sugar began.

Rabinal, Baja Verapaz: The base of the national folklore in Guatemala. You will enjoy the delicious local food, beautiful handicraft, original textilies. In November of 2005 Rabinal was proclaimed by the UNESCO a World Heritage. Market days: Thuersdays and Sundays.
