The experience

Guatemala is a spectacular birding destination with more than 700 bird species from which at least 40 are regional endemics. Also samples spectacular volcanoes and highland lakes, fascinating culture and historic Spanish and Maya cities.  During this tour we will observe and take photograph of wildlife, birds and landscapes. Guatemala offers a world full of contrasts, colonial cities, jungles, volcanoes, archaeological sites and many more things.

--What you can expect—

DAY 1:
Following breakfast begin the journey to El Zapote Reserve, a natural paradise nestled in the foothills of Fuego Volcano, surrounded by a natural spring that feeds a natural pond. The elevation is from 628m with 16 blocks of botanical gardens, four lakes and a huge biodiversity of flora and fauna. Overnight at Los Tarrales Reserve .

DAY 2:
Today you have an opportunity of enjoying a full day of exploring and birding in Los Tarrales.  Los Tarrales reserve ranges from 700m elevation to higher areas at 2000m , with semi-humid broadleaf forest, cloud forest .  More than 340 bird species have been recorded in Los  Tarrales.  The reserve is part of the Atitlán Important Bird Area, designated by BirdLife International.  Overnight at Los Tarrales Reserve.

DAY 3:
Birding in Los Tarrales during the morning.  By the afternoon drive back to Guatemala City . Overnight at Guatemala City.
